I made this quilt 10+ years ago for my daughter..It was wonderful. I made it from a kit I got
at a craft show in Toronto Ont….Are those kits still available..The kit had some wild fabrics in it.
I would like to make another one.

I suspect that that kit is long gone. You might try googling ‘north pole quilt fabric kit’ to see if anything pops up. If not, you’ll have fun shopping for fabric. I know I did!

Thank you for asking! I did just post the measurements. Welcome to the North Pole is 40” x 52”. The blocks can be enlarged, or reduced, to change the size of the quilt.

No, this is appliqué. I mostly use needle turn appliqué but you could use any other appliqué method that suits you.

I have your book but nowhere does it say to REVERSE the pattern if using fusible paper backing for the appliqué. Should I do this?

HI Carol,
Yes, either use the templates upside down on the paper side of the fusible or follow the instructions on the fusible web you are using.
Also, the instructions in the book were written with hand applique in mind. That’s why you didn’t find mention of reversing the templates.

I would love to make this quilt but I have a question about the names of the buildings. Can you buy a panel or do they need to be hand stitched?

Those are applique blocks. It would be fun as a panel but that has never happened.

No, they are handwritten with a permanent pen. And I encourage you to use your own handwriting because it adds a very personal touch :-).
