I heard about this on All Things Considered this afternoon. It's really fun! I found myself tearing up in parts even while I was smiling. I remember when this song was new, which dates me. However, that's not all bad – at least I remember most of the words!

I am dating myself too, but when I was in high school my girlfriends and I prided ourselves on knowing all the words- and I still knpow them all! Good music never dies…!!!

ROFL!!! I can’t believe how much this video is circulating!!! This was filmed about 30 miles from my house. I remember hearing on the news that they wanted volunteers to come downtown for the lip-sync. I wish I had gone! I think this was the second day to do the shoot, as the first day scheduled was rained out. Too awesome! 🙂

I had heard about this but didn’t see it until now. I too remember this song, and know all the words. I grew up in Grand Rapids so it was fun to see the downtown and to show everyone that GR is NOT a dying city!
