it didn't hit 100 today. Yay! Steve and Chris got the siding and soffits up on the north side of the garage:
I washed the mold off of the back wall. A job I was not looking forward to but that wasn't that bad. I also washed and scrubbed the garage doors, but I did not take a photo. Really, you can't tell they are cleaner.
Steve, and later Chris, took the gutters and soffits off of the back of the house. The French doors will be replaced tomorrow or later in the week.
This bit of old siding is staying put, not being replaced by the Hardie panels. If you look at the left side of the photo above you'll see electrical boxes. We really don't want to touch them. The siding is in good shape. It's staying put.
The roofers were here today, replacing the flat, leaky roof over the side porch. You can't see it but believe me, it's way better. And Chris and Steve got the soffit more than half done over this door:
Tomorrow I start painting. I had hoped to start today but there you go. I have lots to paint. Maybe the temps will stay below 100. We can all hope…

Good thing you had the leaks on your roof repaired already. It pays to have it patched up as early as possible before the rainy days begin. Good luck on painting! It is both fun and tiring, but after everything it’ll be worth it 🙂 Kudos on your current house changes!

Congratulations to you and your hard working family. The reno looks very nice. I have never heard of Hardie panels. I am from Canada so maybe they are not here. Regardless, they look great and I like the color. Looks like a yellow tone, my favorite. Cheers, Rhonda

Your house looks completely different compared from before. The roofers certainly did their job passionately! Well, passion should be in every roofer’s vocabulary. 🙂 Keep the good vibes within you! And I’m sure, you’ll overcome any problems that you’ll face.

You are right Rodney; a total transformation has been completed. I love the outside area where trees are beside your place. It must be refreshing and relaxing to sit down right there in the yard and inhale fresh air, courtesy of the trees everywhere. Congratulations, by the way, for the successful makeover.
