Have you ever wondered about money? Where it comes from, how it works? I've not spent a whole lot of time on this but I finally did get around to listening to the podcast from This American Life from January 7 entitled The Invention of Money.
This American Life is a radio show on NPR. Some of you will already know it and some of you will not. It's worth a listen. I enjoyed this show in particular, especially the last segment on how the Federal Reserve works. (That's Ben Bernanke, the chair of the Federal Reserve, looking younger and more carefree than I remember.) It's even more strange/magical/scary/impressive than I thought it might be.
I'm still in Naples, FL. It's warm and a bit humid and lovely. The guild here is full of friendly, happy women and we've had a very good time together so far – with one more day of class to go.

I love this American Life, I always learn sooo much!

I am a This American Life junkie! I subscribe to the TAL podcast in ITunes, and can’t wait to listen each week. It’s great for either a nice, long walk (the time just flies!), or for curling up on the couch and knitting π

Hey Becky – this is off-topic but I wanted to drop a line to let you know. I took a hand applique session with you and Linda in Lancaster PA years ago and have been following your designs ever since. This past weekend the local quilt shop did an all day retreat – bring your own project but they provided goodie bags and giveaways, etc. One of the items in the goodie bag was a kit with instructions to make one of your It’s Sew Simple bags. It was a great little freebie and I’m looking forward to making it.

Im glad to hear that you are enjoying the pattern! Once you see how to do it, its easy to change the size and shape of the bags. Ive made several and need to make more in different sizes.
