I'm teaching at the Indiana Heritage Quilt Show this weekend. I don't remember ever flying into the Indianapolis Airport… it's very nice! Sue Nickels and I arrived at just about the same time so we rode together to Bloomington where the show is held. But on our way out of the airport we spotted some wonderful bench-art pieces:
So we sat on them and had our picture taken!
Upon closer inspection, we found assemblages of little people. Look to the left of me, just on top of the seat of the bench, do you see a little something sticking up? It's this little lady:
There were several more but this is the best photo. Makes me want to go home and put little people around my house!
I left mom home mostly alone. Steve or Lorna and kids are there for lunch and Steve is home for dinner and beyond. She's doing great I'm happy to say. It's nice to see her smiling!

Have fun in Bloomington – I went to grad school at IU. I hope you have the opportunity to see the town square and shop a bit. I’ve heard several people say, after visiting B’ton, that they’d like to retire there.

I love this! Very clever and the little people add the perfect touch. What a great antidote to the mundane hours of airport travel.

Hi Becky, I’m new to your blog but not your books! I love all your designs and fabrics you use. Can’t decide which one to start! I have a question (don’t know if questions are proper blog etiquette, sorry.) when gathering fabric for most of your quilts, is it better to purchase mostly fat quarters, charms, or jelly rolls? Going to PA. soon and I will be going fabric shopping!! Thanks. Again I love Piece O Cake website.

Hi Renee:
I tend to buy fat quarters of most things, half yards of good polka dots, and sometimes 1 yard pieces of large colorful florals. Because Im a firm believer in pre-washing my fabric I tend not to buy jelly rolls or charm packs. Have fun in PA!

Seems like they turned the unclaimed lost luggage into art. Nice.
