Wednesday Giveaway

Sue H. is the lucky winner of this week’s Give Away. She’ll be getting 3 spools of #12 perle cotton in cream, medium brown, and chocolate brown. This size of perle cotton is perfect for applique stitches made to be seen, embellishing, and big stitch hand quilting. There are several needles that work with this thread—my favorite is the Bohin #9 crewel needle.

If you aren’t sue and you would like to find this (and more), visit pieceocake.com!

  1. I have not used Perle cotton but would like to try it. I am a cross stitcher too so I usually use DMC floss. Thanks for the chance to win.

  2. I like to use these spools of thread in cotton or wool for wool or primitive applique. Thanks for the opportunity to win some.

  3. I am always drawn to neutral colors. When in high school my mother would get upset with me when I wore beiges and tans. She would say “you’re a blonde, wear vibrant colors!”

  4. Beautiful shades … I’m beginning to add stitches to my applique – love the look. Always appreciate your suggesting the “best” size needles for the threads we’re using.
I would be excited to WIN today!!

  5. Love the #12 perle cotton – just took my first “big stitch/bold stitch” class. I’ve been loving the lo lo products for years! I especially like the twist up delivery though – it keeps most of the lotion on the backs of my hands rather than the palms

  6. Perle cotton is so nice to work with. It just glides through the fabric, no matter what you are using for a particular project. I big-stitch quilted a queen size quilt with perle cotton and it was an absolute dream.
