Sallee is this week’s winner and she will receive a 4 1/2″ x 4 1/2″ Quilter’s Select ruler. I love the non-slip coating on the QS rulers so much that I’ve made all my other rulers go away. The numbers can be read left to right AND right to left which takes a little getting used to but once you get it, it’s a good system. This size is handy when you are cutting small shapes.

I really could use that ruler (of course, couldn’t we all?). My cat, Quincy Underfoot, also likes to steal my thread. I watched a “Rocky Mountain Vet” episode where a cat got a BUNCH of thread wrapped into it’s intestine. It required surgery to correct the problem (poor cat, poorer owner). That vet said cats are “obligate swallowers”. Once they get something in their mouth, they continue to swallow until the end comes along. I started when I first got Quincy to train him not to be so nosy in my sewing room with a squirt gun or bottle. I had one in every room and if I didn’t want him to be into something, or do something, I squirted him and said loudly “NO”. He got it quickly. I know it sounds mean, but I would rather he got wet than had surgery. Love your blog, love your web site and all the stuff in the shop. Thanks for all of it.
