Congrats to Valerie Leclerc, this week’s winner. She will receive this package of 6 spools of Sulky’s cotton 12wt, 2-ply thread! This thread is the equivalent of 2 strands of floss, twisted together. Use it for embroidery, and for big stitch hand quilting or applique.

Shop for all sorts of sewing notions, books, and other fun stuff at pieceocake.com. And remember, orders above $75 ship for free!

I get very frustrated with embroidery floss when I try to separate the strands and they knot up instead. Such beautiful colors too. (Perhaps Jim is not over-weight — it could just be his Winter coat. That’s the excuse I use).

I have not yet tried big stitch appliqué – and I love appliqué work. Nice to know there is a thread out there and no separating embroidery floss strands.
