Wednesday Giveaway

Connie G. is this week’s winner! She will receive a 6″ Add-A-Quarter Plus ruler. This dandy tool is used in foundation paper piecing to safely trim away excess fabric, leaving a 1/4″ seam allowance.

Leave a comment/reply on this blog post to enter the drawing. A winner will be chosen by the random number generator tomorrow.

I’ll be back with another Giveaway next Wednesday. Until then you can shop for all sorts of sewing notions, books, and other fun stuff at pieceocake.com!

  3. This is such a neat little ruler! I have a big long one I use now, but how nice would it be to have this for smaller piecing!

  4. I have a 12 inch ruler that does this and it is always in the way. I like the littlest pieces to EPP! This 6 inch would be so much easier to manage.

  5. Starting a hand piecing project and this ruler will help with that! I do everything by hand and more likely than not the template will not have the 1/4 inch line marked!

  7. I have a 12″ add-a-quarter, but the 6″ would be better for smaller piecing. Always use the smallest ruler for the job!

  9. Oh, Poor Jim! Poor YOU! What an awful experience. Our first cat was indoor/outdoor and would eat my Iris leaves. I freaked the first time I saw it, but the vet said she probably knew they were ok as she didn’t eat any other plants. As to two puppies!?!?!

  10. I do enjoy paper piecing but I still use a piece of template plastic for my fold lines. An all in one tool would be so much more convenient. Glad Jim so going to be okay-silly boy.

  13. Oh no! Poor Jim and your pocketbook both suffered badly! Once again that cat is so lucky you adopted him, and can believe he appreciates your TLC..Pets do bring us trauma and drama but they are so worth it…most of the time! πŸ˜…

  14. I love to paper piece but I’m wondering if I can use this when making The Farmers Wife 1920s Sampler. You have to add the 1/4″ seam allowance and this ruler might do the trick.

  15. I have the smaller version of this ruler but the extra width would keep my fingers further from the rotary cutter blade. πŸ‘
