Greta is this week’s winner and she will receive a pack of applique pins from Little House. These 3/4″ fine pins have a small glass head. They are a little bit flexible but not bendy which helps them to lay flatter against your applique. I like them!

I’ll be back with another Giveaway next Wednesday. Until then you can shop for all sorts of sewing notions, books, and other fun stuff at pieceocake.com!

These pins look wonderful…I’d love to give them a try. Thanks Becky

Those pins are the BEST for hand applique. They are very sharp and thin so glide through the applique piece and so short that your thread doesn’t catch on them I have used them for several years and can always use more. Those seem to have a light colored glass head. Having different colored glass heads help to see them on different colored applique pieces. My current heads are red and dark blue.

Short appliqué pins that are fine and truly sharp would be a wonderful tool:
Too many are dull and too thick for intricate projects. I have used fine needles in place of pins.

I never knew how important applique pins were until a friend gave me 6 of hers at a retreat. I guess she was frustrated watching me battle my long pins. This is a nice giveaway. Oh, I’m still using those same 6 pins right now.

My husband has been known to cut blocks for me, help when I make the sandwich, baste with me, and sew blocks on the machine, but I think he draws the line at hand sewing. Isn’t it great to have a husband willing to help with process?
