Wednesday Giveaway

Elma May is this week’s winner and she will receive a Sewing Needle Guide. Congrats, Elma May!

You might not think you need one, but you do—especially now when we are all doing so much online shopping. This guide lists the most common hand-sewing needles and what they are used for. It is very handy!

I’ll be back with another Giveaway next Wednesday. Until then you can shop for all sorts of sewing notions, books, and other fun stuff at pieceocake.com!

  2. This would be very helpful. I’m a quilter who looks through my mom’s sewing basket in dismay, wondering what all of those things are–why so many, what to do with them? And then, when I’m ready to undertake a new project, I feel sure that I have what I need, but I don’t know which it is.

  6. I have a drawer full of needles and can never remember my sharps from my betweens. This would save me some time when trying to select the right size.

  7. Took a class from Laura. If any of your readers can get a chance to take her class do it. She is a hoot. Has some good class content too. I’d love her guide. She didn’t have that product four years ago. Not that I remember anyway.
Thanks for all you do Becky.

  8. What a great idea! As soon as my needle leaves the package, I lose track of what size and type it is. And, not knowing what to use for different projects is frustrating. This would help a lot.

  10. I’m wondering what brand hand quilting needles everyone prefers. I have a history of bending needles often, they don’t break, just bend.

    • For big stitch hand quilting I use Bohin’s #9 crewel needle and it doesn’t bend for me. For traditional hand quilting I use Clover #12 betweens, either the gold-eye or black gold. Hope that helps :-).
