Wednesday Giveaway!

Lori T is the Winner of this week’s giveaway. She will receive 2 packages of Painters Flower Thread in the Matisse (Christmas Red) color. Flower thread is 100% cotton that is NOT mercerized, which gives it a matte finish to use with wool or for embroidery where you want a non-reflective thread. (Click here for more information and to see other colors we have in stock.)

I’ll be back with another Giveaway next Wednesday. Until then you can shop for all sorts of sewing notions, books, and other fun stuff at pieceocake.com!

  1. I have not seen Painters flower thread before. The no sheen is intriguing. I do a lot of hand embroidery and am just starting Shashiko. I am wondering how it would work for the latter.

  2. I had no idea this type of thread even existed! I’ve been setting aside embroidery ideas, and this thread would be handy – its such a lovely shade. Thanks for the giveaway!

  3. I have loved the Painters Threads since I first discovered them on your website a few years ago, and I use them often. The “Flower” (matte) version is new to me, and the red color is gorgeous! I’d love to try it!

  4. Becky, those threads would go perfectly in my maroon oriented family room. I’d stitch up a pic w them for the holidays. Thanks for the chance.

  5. I love Painter’s Thread products (company =Tentakulum, Germany). I’ve been using their threads, gimp, snail braid, etc., for several years for embellishing and big stitch quilting. Haven’t tried it yet for sashiko, but perle 8 size would probably work. I also like the names that evoke the art/colors of artists. Highly recommend their products.
