The sheets should like a great idea. The tube stuff tends to get all over me too.
I watched your video on the ugly thimble. It looks like a good idea. I often use mole skin wrapped around my finger as a thimble. Many times I find a thimble I think fits. I start to sew and it falls off. I have a drawer full of unused thimbles.
