Wednesday Giveaway

This week’s winner is Lisa G Benson. She will receive 3 scissor charms that are mostly red and white. There’s a ladybug, a cupcake, and a bird that you can use to dress up your scissor, rotary cutter, a zipper, and more!

If you are not Lisa, you can find more scissor charms, plus a movie that shows how you can use them especially with serrated scissors, here.

I’ll be back with another Giveaway next Wednesday. Until then you can shop for all sorts of sewing notions, books, and other fun stuff at pieceocake.com!

  3. I truly enjoy your newsletters. Thanks again for helping me purchase the correct scissors for cutting wool. I bet the ladybug scissor charm sure would go great with one of the scissors I bought yesterday. I hope I win this time!

  4. I love these charms. I put one on my Yazzie bag Insert so I know that side is up. I pulled the inserts out and just use the ones I need for the project I’m on. They make great zipper pulls for arthritis hands. Thank you for the chance to win more. 😎

  5. What cute scissor charms – would love to win them. By the way, Jim is absolutely right not to want to color his hair – his natural color is perfect! What an adorable cat!

  6. I am working on my needle turn. Takes a while to get the hang of it. Not used to a thimble, but I am trying. My callus appears on my middle finger of my right hand. Not sure why..

    • Hi Virginia:

I don’t wear a thimble when I hand applique, except for those times when I need protection on my underneather finger, or a leather thimble-as on my top finger.

My guess is that the callous is forming at the spot where you are pushing the needle with the side of your right middle finger. I hold my needle differently so don’t get one there. You could watch this video to see how I hold my own needle: https://youtu.be/PbbqaqCs7lM

      Happy stitching!

  7. Too cute…this is what I need for my curved and strait tiny sharp scissors I use to trim my applique pieces. They live in cases and I always get the wrong one when reaching for them!

  8. I love scissor bobs! And these are adorable. So handy on my serrated scissors so I know which blade should be on top. Thanks for the chance to get these.
