Becky thanks for the giveaway. Please see a doctor immediately. My husband was hospitalized because our little sweet cat bit him. It can go from nothing to a full on blood infection in a couple of days. I sent you an email just now. Cat bites are the WORST animal bites because of the bacteria on a cats teeth and can lead blood poisoning. Thank you for writing! My friend and physician put me on an antibiotic the next day, when it was just beginning to look bad. 4 days later and the antibiotic has helped a lot but my hand is still a swollen and sore (but not nearly as a bad as it was).
I googled early on and found out that middle aged women are the most prone to cat-bitten hands and that kind of cracked me up because the implication is that middle aged women have more cats. As you know, this happens to men too—men are just as susceptible as women are to complications to the bacteria.
I’m glad your husband recovered and is well now!
