It’s time for another blog prize…

We had our first blog “door” prize in November and it’s high time for another one! This is a block from the sampler quilt in our book, The New Applique Sampler.

Becky appliqued this block (by hand, herself) for a class and it never made it into a quilt. The background is 12 1/2″ x 19 1/2″ and it has not been trimmed.

To enter to win this lovely door prize, leave a comment on this post. Be sure to leave your name!

On Friday (or Saturday, depending on how the week goes) we’ll announce a RANDOM winner of our prize! If you post anonymously we may not be able to email you to let you know you won, so be sure to check back.

And don’t forget that the deadline (March 1) for the Free Block Contest is fast approaching. We’ve already received some photos of completed projects and we’re loving them!

  2. I love that the base of the flower is formed with a circle–a nod to quilts from the 1800’s. And, I am drawn to the happiness and prettiness of Piece O’Cake designs. They are so optimistic. Becky just taught at the Tampa, FL TAS chapter Feathered Princesses in October 2009. We voted her the best applique teacher we’ve had. That is quite a big honor as we have had many wonderful teachers! Becky inspired me to really turn the corner with my applique, needle turn it that is. As I worked along finishing my class piece, I was able to consult the excellent cd and book–truely invaluable resources. As a result, my class piece was finished by January. As no good deed goes unpunished, I am now leading the March Becky Continuing Ed class for the Guild. Thanks for asking me Dorthy. :0) Hey, I like being a student — it is fun being the baby and being helped and watched over. Teaching is hard work! :))) Janet Wachter

  3. WOW! 187 comments. I do not stand a chance in you know where. I love this block, love the colors, love everything about it. I think it would be great as a center for a quilt or wall hanging.

  5. I remember, quite a few years ago, seeing you and Linda on “Simply Quilts,” Alex Anderson’s quilt show on HGTV. You were the first to inspire me to do applique. Now it is my passion! Thanks for your many inspiring patterns and your excellent teaching in the workshops I’ve taken from Becky. Having an applique block you made would be really special!

  7. The Piece O’ Cake method of appliqué has made my love for quilting a real passion (or maybe that’s obsession). Goodness, there is such a fine line there… It is the perfect method for all I do! I would love to frame this block and have it hang on my studio wall.
