Do you remember this post from July 28 where you saw the start of Marilyn McWilliams’s Bullseye quilt? Well, she got her flying geese border blocks made and sewn on!

I think the colors in the photo above are more accurate than in the photo below, but either way, this is a stunning quilt. Well done, Marilyn, and thank you so much for sharing your quilt with us. Can’t wait to see it once it is quilted :-).

A few ladies & I got together & did your block of the month Sizzle pattern. I thought you’d like to see my rendition of it below. I added three extra blocks to make it fit my queen bed. I also used an a accu-quilt dye to make unique corner blocks.

Karen, you did a great job of altering the pattern to make it fit your bed. I notice that you also made the borders wider and used a lovely appliquéd block in the corners. Well done! And the quilting is perfect. I hope that you use and enjoy your quilt for a long time :-).

Thank you, Karen, for sharing your lovely quilt with us!

Kathrin Brown sent me a picture of her newly finished Bullseye quilt. The colors grab your attention and pull you to the center of the Bullseye. It’s amazing! Kathrin wrote the following about her quilt:

“I won a stack of books from CT Publishing when they launched their new online learning platform “Creative Spark” in November 2020. A fan of paper piecing and modern aesthetics, I started this project immediately when I received the booklet. This 40” project is manageable, I had fabric in my stash, and it was fun to piece (with some redo to get a flat center). I spent about 30 hours of quilting on the longarm to finish it. Started in February 2021 and finished in July 2021.”

Marilyn McWilliams took my Bullseye class on Creative Spark as part of a guild class. She sent photos of her progress as she worked toward making a 40” wall hanging. Here are the Center and Rings 1 and 2. The next photos shows the fabrics she planned to use in the next rings.

And here it is with Rings 3, 4, and 5—it’s amazing! The next photo shows the fabric she will use for the corners and the flying geese border blocks. This quilt allows you to play with color in a way that not every pattern does.
