Wednesday Giveaway – the General!

General’s White Chalk Pencil is one of our favorite marking tools (click here to see all the ones we carry) and the set of two pencils and a sharpener is a real bargain! Especially since one of these sets will be free to this week’s winner, Kittynielson!

The pencil makes a line that you can see and it brushes off well. The chalk line that you draw around your templates is part of the seam allowance. The line should turn under completely so that you don’t see it.

I’ll be back with another Giveaway next Wednesday. Until then you can shop for all sorts of sewing notions, books, and other fun stuff at pieceocake.com!

Wednesday Giveaway – Bags go to Trish Bishop!

Part of my cleaning out process resulted in a collection of cloth and plastic zipper bags. I don’t need them for my reorganizing, but hopefully, Trish will be able to put them to good use!

And as a special additional bonus, a fun cloth bag from Moda, added to the collection since this photo was taken.

Wednesday Giveaway!

It is exceedingly rare to find a whole new needle but Colonial’s Tapestry Petites fit the bill! We carry both the #24 and the #26 sizes. The winner of the shorter #26 size has an unusual username: Simply stitching.

These needles are short, with big eyes, and a sharp-enough point. I will use both the #24 and the #26 when hand sewing with #12 and #8 pearl cotton. I think they will be good for embroidery, big-stitch hand quilting, and big-stitch applique.

Show and tell: My Whimsical Quilt Garden

Pamela Rubinos just completed this quilt using our pattern for My Whimsical Quilt Garden. She wrote:

I had a wonderful time making it. I used a lot of my Tilda scraps along with others. I love your patterns and work. They’re all great. I’m looking forward to the Bloom BOM.

Pamela designed her own special border and it suits the quilt well. The colors are lovely, and the quilting sets it all off perfectly. Well done, Pamela! Thank you for sharing with us!

Show and tell: Steve’s Birds

Jami Smith sent this photo of her Steve’s Birds quilt top and I love it! Jami’s fabric choices manage to set each bird apart into its own space, while still working together as a whole. Well done, Jami, and thank you for sharing!

She wrote:

I so enjoyed making all these birds, thank you.  While my hands don’t allow me to do needle turned I’m still able to do fusible. So looking forward to starting 2025 block of the month. Happy New Year!
