Unicorns really are magical! They appear, kind of out of the blue, to put a smile on your face :-).
Susanne Hilton sent me this picture of the unicorn quilt she made for her granddaughter, who loves it! Susanne said “it was so fun to make!!”

Linda L. Jones sent these photos of her recently finished Magical Unicorn quilt. She made it for a friend’s granddaughter. Linda simplified the pattern and says that the machine appliqué was fun and fast 😃.
Here is Michaelann with Linda’s husband, who was a farrier/horse person in an earlier life. He helped Linda to simplify the drawing of the unicorn just a big. And that’s the Gulf of Mexico in the background. All in all, it looks pretty magical, don’t you think?!

This week’s lucky winner is Sue Holman. She will receive a package with 12 Sench Side-Threading needles in assorted sizes. This needle is perfect for burying the tails of thread that happen during machine quilting.

Alison, this week’s lucky winner, will receive a Sewline glue pen. I use this glue pen (and/or the Quilter’s Select glue pen) to baste the seam allowances to the paper in English paper piecing. Use a light hand with the glue; it doesn’t take much.
Run the glue along the edge of the paper, not the fabric. Fold the fabric over the edge of the paper and onto the glued area. The glue comes in blue, pink, or yellow but it dries clear. Once dry, it holds the fabric securely but it also releases with little effort. Click here for a how-to video.
Tip: Don’t press until you’ve removed the EPP papers. Pressing can make the fabric harder to peel free.
