Sue Green just sent me this photo and I must share it with you, right now! What a great idea and I have to say, Sue, your appliquéd circles are excellent :-)!

I was watching your you tube videos on Searching For Beauty and got the brainstorm to make ornaments for my grandchildren using one of the blocks. I reduced the block to 4.25 inches and hand appliqued them. The kids are in 2nd and 5th grade and have been back and forth between in school and remote learning. Thank you for the pattern!
Thank you, Sue, for sharing!
FYI: Click here to find all of the free videos and pattern together on Creative Spark. Or you can find the pattern on my website, click here. There is a link on that page to the same videos on YouTube.
Margery Tadder sent me this photo of her Welcome to the North Pole wallhanging. She wasn’t sure it was good for Show and Tell but it is perfect in every way for showing! Not only is the quilt super cute, the decorations above and the elf below so very happy. Well done, Margery!!!
She wrote: “It was fun to do and looks really cute hanging from my mantle. Thank you again for your adorable patterns! Wishing you and your family good health and happiness in a better New Year!”
And I send happy, healthy thoughts out to you all as well!
Cindy Cox sent this photo of her Whimsical Quilt Garden quilt. I love it! Her friend, Teresa Marler, encouraged her to send it and I’m so glad she did. Truly, don’t be shy! Please do send me pictures of your Piece O’ Cake quilts because we all want to see them!
Cindy wrote: “I enjoyed making this quilt, it was the first one I’ve hand sewn from a pattern. Other than the green olive on the right border, I love it! I may sew another color on the top of that. Haha! Enjoy your day,Cindy Cox”
If you are like me, you had to look for the olive and, once found, I like it! But we are each different, with different tolerance levels. Cindy, your quilt is fabulous no matter what. Thank you for sharing!
I do teach an online Bullseye class. If you are interested, click here.
Debbie also sent this photo of her finished Sizzle quilt. It is similar to but different from the colors I used in my version of the quilt. I really like the way the lime green pops in this quilt. You can find the book here: https://pieceocake.com/collections/books-dvds/products/sizzle
There are free how-to videos that go with the Sizzle book. You can find them soon with my classes on Creative Spark. Until then, you can find them on YouTube. Go to YouTube, search for C&T Publishing to find their channel. Once there, type in Sizzle in the search box.
Thank you, Debbie, for sharing your lovely quilts with us! Well done, you!
Gwyn Jalbert took my online Tile Tango class with the Palmetto Quilt Guild. Interestingly, Gwyn lives in Kitchener, Ontario but her guild is in South Carolina. The internet makes long distance classes so easy!
She finished 4 flowers to make the complete block below. She did a lovely job on the appliqué and I love the fall colors she chose! Thank you, Gwyn, for sharing your block with us!
Gwyn said… “I wanted to tell you how much I enjoyed the class I took with you on Oct. 16 with the Palmetto Quilt Guild. Here is the block I have completed I am working on the next one and I will probably do the Tile Tango quilt. I am really enjoying the needle turn applique and I see my stitches and technique getting better with the practice. Thanks again.”
Online classes are truly wonderful and I am personally very proud of the ones I have put together. Whether you are with a guild or not, you can find my online classes at Creative Spark. I will add new classes as time goes by. Here’s the link to my classes: https://creativespark.ctpub.com/pages/Becky_Goldsmith
All of the classes on Creative Spark are priced to provide a fair income to the teachers. About half of the money goes to the support the people doing the behind-the-scenes work at Creative Spark, the other half goes to the instructor.
You may not think about it often, but free or practically free content does not support the teacher. At some point, we all need to make a living. Most of my income comes from teaching. Income from the products I sell on my website goes to Lorna and Judy, who work for me.
We all choose where to spend our dollars… I’m sharing this information to give you information that you may not know. Happy stitching!
Liz Poitras sent in these photos of the Magical Unicorn quilt that she made for her granddaughter. Isn’t it wonderful, magical, and perfect for a little girl’s bed! Liz, well done you!
From Liz:
Since March, I’ve been working on Magical Thinking for my granddaughter. I just have to finish the binding. I had it custom quilted by Krista Zaleski. She did a fabulous job so I wanted to share it with you. Most of the fabric is Allison Glass. The eyelashes and little white spot in the eye were challenging. I finally decided to embroider those two pieces.
I also included a picture of the back of the quilt. My granddaughter also wanted hearts on up her quilt so I decided to make a rainbow of hearts on the backing made with the 4 different fabrics for each colour. Thanks for your help and support this Spring. Liz
Thank you, Liz, for taking the time to share the photos and story of your quilt. I know it must put a big grin on your face when you image your granddaughter dreaming beneath it :-).
