Gifting 2026 – Mugs & Tea Towels

Don’t you love a good handmade mug?! You know the ones… so cute you have to pick them up and then, when you do, you can’t put them down? White Squirrel Clayworks is a husband and wife team in Ohio, and when Lorna saw their offerings, she knew that these are mugs you can’t put down.

The White Squirrel team specially makes each order. Lorna placed our order in June(!), and they have just arrived. I’m telling you up front — we cannot get more of these, and they’re really good.

There are two sizes:

The Chicken and the Gnomes are bigger.

I am partial to the 10oz size. I don’t like a huge mug, and this small size is actually hard to find. The 14oz isn’t huge either, it’s just a little taller. Each mug is handmade with love, and you can feel that as soon as you pick one up. No two are exactly alike.

I use all my special mugs because that’s what they were made for and it’s how they bring me joy. These mugs are very sturdy, which is nice.

They are all so cute, it’s hard to choose! I found mine (the Chickadee), and then I thought of my Christmas list! Perfect usable art, like a comfy cozy handmade quilt, will make two friends very happy.

Next up, a Tour of Tea Towels including something new and gorgeous from Botanica Paper Co 🌸.

I choose tea towels based on their feel, their durability, and their design. I like a denser design because it hides stains longer, and I use my dishtowels like I use my mugs — with joy, every day. Click the photos to go directly to that towel ☺️ at pieceocake.com.

Idlewild’s color-rich 100% cotton tea towels (below) with embroidered edges check all the boxes. Choose from two kitchen, and two Christmas themes.

Stacie Bloomfield of Gingiber also designs dense patterns that keep the eye moving (away from stains 🤣). Inspired by nature, her 100% cotton flour sack towels (below) are both absorbent and nice to touch.

I’m excited to offer Claudia Pearson’s designs, she’s one of my favorites. These 100% cotton flour sack dishtowels are unique and stylish, with a lovely feel.

NEW, artist Oana Befort of Botanica Paper Co creates gorgeous everyday items. Each design starts as a painting. These 100% linen tea towels only get better with each wash. This one is called Winter, and it will be here next week —you can order now 🌸.

Perfect as a hostess gift, a Friendsgiving gift, or tucked into a stocking, tea towels can also double as reusable gift wrapping.

I hope you’ve enjoyed all the pretty mugs and towels! Happy gifting!!

Christmas Tea Towels

Enjoy this tour of Gingiber tea towels currently in my store, and scroll down for the special tea towel deal info. Have them for Christmas, gift them and/or use them as holiday gift wrap (video at bottom)!

Three brand new Christmas tea towel designs + Cardinals! Make your kitchen merry and bright.

Made of 100% flour sack cotton that is both absorbent and nice to touch, but my favorite thing about these towels is the denseness of the designs. When you use towels in the kitchen (and you should use them!), they will eventually get dirty, and stained. These towels stay prettier longer because they hide some of that. Not to mention, they really are very pretty.

Just flowers:

I’ve pulled a Blue Blossoms into my kitchen, and it’s even more lovely in person.

Add birds:

I do love my own chicken towel :-).

Dogs & cats make great gifts:

The Tea Towel Deal is easy! Buy 4 towels, save $8 (that’s $2 off of each towel). Just load up 4 towels in your cart, and the discount will be taken automatically at checkout (no code needed!).

If you happen to order more than 4 towels, the deal does indeed keep going, but it’s a bit glitchy. Lorna will issue a refund where necessary when she’s processing. You can aways email her with questions at lornabethgoldsmith@gmail.com.

Furoshiki and bojagi are popular right now, and you may have seen “gift wrap fabric squares” popping up various places. My video below makes it simple to understand.

So this holiday season, enjoy happy tea towels in your own kitchen, give them as little gifts, tuck them into stockings, and use them as a sustainable choice for wrapping under the tree. PS: This special set of 4, below, is not part of the special deal, but comes with it’s own pretty tin, and it’s own special price. This is the only way to get the beautiful Seasons towels, and the set makes a wonderful gift.
