Show and tell: My Whimsical Quilt Garden

Pamela Rubinos just completed this quilt using our pattern for My Whimsical Quilt Garden. She wrote:

I had a wonderful time making it. I used a lot of my Tilda scraps along with others. I love your patterns and work. They’re all great. I’m looking forward to the Bloom BOM.

Pamela designed her own special border and it suits the quilt well. The colors are lovely, and the quilting sets it all off perfectly. Well done, Pamela! Thank you for sharing with us!

Show and tell: Steve’s Birds

Jami Smith sent this photo of her Steve’s Birds quilt top and I love it! Jami’s fabric choices manage to set each bird apart into its own space, while still working together as a whole. Well done, Jami, and thank you for sharing!

She wrote:

I so enjoyed making all these birds, thank you.  While my hands don’t allow me to do needle turned I’m still able to do fusible. So looking forward to starting 2025 block of the month. Happy New Year!

Show and Tell… Birds in Toyland!

Carol Meier sent this photo of her completed version of my “Birds in Toyland” pattern. I love it! She said:

Thank you for a fun pattern! It was fun to make, & looks great on our living room wall.

One of the most fun things for me is seeing how others color their quilts and arrange the blocks. Carol used nice, brights lights in her border and those colors make a nice outer edge to the quilt.

Thank you, Carol, for sharing your wonderful Christmas quilt with us!

Wednesday Giveaway – Thanks to Jim!

Jim wanted to leave his mark on one of the last of Tracy Trevethan’s Dragonfruit Sweet Roll wool bundles, so he sunk his teeth into the paper wrapper. The wool is perfectly intact, but we can’t sell it with the label damaged. So our lucky commenter, GAIL, has won this roll, thanks to Jim!

I’ll be back with another Giveaway next Wednesday. Until then you can shop for all sorts of sewing notions, books, and other fun stuff at pieceocake.com!

Show and Tell: Welcome to the North Pole

Thank you to Kari Hawkins, for sharing your wonderful quilt with us! I love the quilt and the fact that you made it 24 years ago and it is still a holiday favorite. Well done!

Thought you might like to see a few photos of my version of the North Pole quilt. I made it in 2000 as part of our local quilt guild’s Challenge. The Challenge was to make a quilt with fabric change, fabric manipulation and fabric embellishments. This quilt allowed me to do all three just fine!

It also placed in our quilt show the next year.

My family and friends enjoy seeing this quilt every year during Christmas. It is often put on display at our guild’s Christmas party. I am a member of Heritage Quilters of Huntsville and enjoy making Piece O’ Cake quilts.

Thank you, again, Kari, for sharing your quilt and its story.

And updated version of Welcome to the North Pole is still available as an ebook. Click here to find it.
