The Eiffel Tower at night…

Last night we went to see the Eiffel Tower as the sun went down. There is a light show on the hour starting at dark which is worth the effort to go see. (The first time I posted this, the photo was sideways. I just fixed it.)

Today we wandered the streets and I had gelato twice – for breakfast and lunch. If it was close I’d have some more now!

Sacre Coeur

We took the Metro to see Sacre Coeur. There are lots of stairs to climb up from the Metro and then up to the church at the top of the hill. There is a tram-like car that some of our group rode to top. I climbed the stairs. The view of Paris is wonderful from there – and the church is amazing too!

Linda found a place in the shade to rest.

The sky was clear and the church held a nice pose for me…

Sacre Coeur is near a fabric district. Of course we shopped.

This is where we are staying – pretty sweet!

Versailles!

We got up at 6:00 (and no one was happy about that) and we were on the RER (train) by 8:00. Good thing because you have to go then to be at the front of the line. You want to be at the front of the line because otherwise there are people EVERYWHERE! The inside photos were OK but outside were better…

Look at me petting that huge vase.

After we walked Versailles, we went out to the gardens. It costs more but way worth it. Linda, Judy, and Paula rented a golf cart, and I walked. Both were good choices. Lots of fountains.

A beautiful day…

More from Paris…

I had words and then it messed up so let me try to tell you without looking at the photos what’s up.
We have a great view out of our apartment window! Notre Dame is very photogenic. The Eiffel Tower was spectacular. We went to the Jardin des Plantes. Paris is warm and clear. Versailles tomorrow!

We’re in Paris!

I’m going to keep the words to a minimum because it’s been a while since I’ve slept. I got lucky and had 3 seats to myself on the way over the water so got to lay down and sleep. Good thing because we were at it until 8:00 this evening.

Linda and I posed on a bridge over the Seine.

Tomorrow I need to get Paula and Judy.

I’m going to post this and see if the images upload. More later…

The downside to travel…

…is this.

My time in Canada has been great! Met lots of wonderful quilters. The weather was cool/cold and wet which was fine with me because of the drought and fires at home. I could wish some this for Texas.

Soon I should be boarding a small jet for Boston and later I’ll go on to Paris! There should be good photos then!
