Ellen Harris from Huntsville, AL sent me this photo of her finished Aunt Millie’s Garden. She saw a post on Pinterest that inspired the aqua fabric for the background. Oange and blue are complementary colors and together they make a great foundation of color to support the other colors in the quilt.

The back has a hand embroidery piece appliqued on that says: “May I a small house and a large garden have.”

Well done, Ellen! And thank you for sharing your lovely quilt with us!

Margery Tadder in Colorado Springs sent me this picture of her just finished Magical Unicorn quilt. It’s perfect! Margery says that she is delighted with it and I can see why. I really like the way that sky fabric fills the background, and the grass! Both fabrics set the stage for the whole quilt.

Margery wrote: “My long arm quilter was so enamored she took a picture and sent it to a friend who promptly bought the pattern! But who could NOT love everything Designed by Becky! The quilt will be a Christmas present for a special 4 yr old girl and know she will be thrilled especially since unicorns are her “thing” right now.”

There will be squeals of delight on Christmas morning :-). Well done, Margery!

Kathy McCalla also finished her Searching for Beauty quilt—I love the way she combined a traditional setting with the very non-traditional applique designs! Kathy wrote:

I wanted to thank you for your wonderful Covid patterns. I love to applique and this was especially fun to help us remember 2020.

The lock design in the quilting is totally perfect!

I know that at some point the memories of this year will fade (because that’s what memories do) and that these quilts will remind us of what we have lived through to get to the other side.

Kathy, thank you for sharing your lovely quilt with us!

Nancy Schmidt from Granville, OH, sent me pictures of her finished Searching for Beauty quilt. It is wonderful! Here is what Nancy wrote:

It was a joy working your pattern and especially creating the background fabric. The photos on the back side includes face masks I made, and reminders of hand washing and social distancing. Please note I added your name to the label because you provided so much inspiration for this project. What fun It was to make and will bring back memories of this strange event in time.

The photos on the back, along with the pieced squares, really are a nice touch!

Thank you, Nancy, for sharing your quilt with us! Your quilt truly does capture this strange time in our lives.

Ruth McCormick shared her recently finished “Underlying Condition” quilt, which measures 34″ x 35″.  She used the virus designs from my Searching for Beauty pattern, and the heart came from the website www.NurseFuel.com.

I am impressed with the way Ruth tells her story in such a clear and precise way. My DIL also has an underlying heart condition which makes living through this pandemic very scary for her, her family, and those of us who share their ‘bubble’.

Ruth made this quilt for a Guild challenge, with the theme Hearts and Flowers.  The viruses look like flowers to me, but just to be safe, I inserted two pieces of flower fabric (orange viruses).

Thank you, Ruth, for sharing your vision with us! Well done!

Here is another block from the virtual Bullseye class that I taught for the Golden Triangle Quilters in Beaumont. this is Jean Aguilar’s finished block. It graphic and stunning—well done, Jean!

I don’t know if the braided chicken mat in the background was use for inspiration, but it definitely could have been. They look very nice together on the table :-).

Thank you, Jean, for sharing your block!
