Wednesday Giveaway Winner! – Congrats, Melanie Rinks!

Last week’s newsletter included a video on needles, how to identify them and why a particular one might be the best choice for a given project. Our Giveaway – Side Threading Needle – continues that theme. This needle is perfect for burying the tails of thread that happen during machine quilting. And, if you have failing eyesight but still want to sew, these needles will make you happy.

The package comes with 12 needles in assorted sizes. The needles are sturdy and a little thicker than normal.

I’ll be back with another Giveaway next Wednesday. Until then you can shop for all sorts of sewing notions, books, and other fun stuff at pieceocake.com!

Exclusive New Mugs from Rebecca Livingston

I wish you could hold one of these mugs right now because once you do, you know why they are so very special. Rebecca made these blue and white (with a touch of green) mugs just for Piece O’ Cake. Quantities are very limited and I don’t know when we can get more. Click here to find the mugs.

If you tried to order when I posted the video, they showed as sold out. That was my fault… there were buttons I failed to push. We do still have some as I post this. Click here to find the mugs.

Present-giving season is upon us and these special mugs make perfect gifts for your favorite people. Who knows, you might need to gift one to yourself!

Companies sometimes include little sewing notions when they ship orders to me. Janet Glusenkamp is the lucky winner of our bag of goodies, put together by Judy for the giveaway this week. Congrats, Janet!

Well, OK, since you can see most of what’s in the surprise, it’s not exactly a surprise 🤣🤣🤣🤣.

Show and tell…

Debra Miller sent me this photo of her finished Bullseye wall quilt. Here’s the story:

I took your bullseye class at the Ky Heritage Quilt Society getaway (Cave City, KY) in June 2019. Finally finished the quilt during Covid shutdown. Did the quilting myself. Trimmed with flying geese and done with extra trapunto behind the bullseye. Measures 46” square. Unfortunately I didn’t win a ribbon (at the Kentucky State Fair 2021) but I love it and so does my husband. I have a place for it in a guest bedroom. Thanks for great instruction. I picked up a lot in your class.

Debra Miller — Frankfort, Kentucky

Debra, your quilt is lovely and how wonderful that you got to share it in person with those who saw it at the fair and here, online! It does not need a ribbon to be a winner :-). Thank you for sharing it with us!

On a personal note, I always enjoy hearing when projects started in one of my classes get finished. If any of you are interested in making a Bullseye quilt, large or small, you can find the book here AND you can find my online class that includes the ebook on Creative Spark. Click here for the class.

Wednesday Giveaway

Sandra Smith was chosen by the Random Number Generator as our Wednesday winner! She will receive the Sewline Aqua Eraser Pen, described below.

Designed to “erase” chalk or pencil marks from fabric, as well as small stains without making a big wet mess, you control how it works. Fill the reservoir with water and/or your trusted stain remover, use finger pressure to control the “wetness” of the nib and rub along the line or stain on your fabric. Check out the video and the before and after photos of my bedspread to see just how it works.
