Wednesday Giveaway – DIY Fox

A couple of months ago, we sold out of Woodland Fox DIY Felt Bag kits, stored in a reusable tin. We are giving away a sample kit (minus the reusable tin) to this week’s winner, Darlene S., for her friend.

The kit includes pre-punched felt, embroidery thread, buttons, velcro, needle and illustrated guide. For ages 6 and up.

Click here to check out all of the kits in stock in our store, along with “crafty” tools, etc.

I’ll be back with another Giveaway next Wednesday. Until then you can shop for all sorts of sewing notions, books, and other fun stuff at pieceocake.com!

North Pole Show and Tell…

Regina Grewe sent me these photos of her Welcome to the North Pole quilt. Isn’t it lovely! Well done, Regina and thank you for sharing it with us!

She said: “Finished in 2015, made with a little help from my friends a lot of buttons and embellishment was added. It’s a family treasure now.”

This book was first published in 1997 and it is still one of my favorite quilts. The ebook is available here: https://pieceocake.com/collections/christmas-patterns-books/products/welcome-back-to-the-north-pole-digital-download-ebook

Countdown to Christmas: DIY Advent Calendar Adventure #5

Fill your Advent Calendar bags with little surprises! 🎁 In this video, I walk you through how I sorted all the tiny gifts and then tucked them neatly into their numbered bags, ready for December 1. It’s such a fun project to plan and put together, and the finished calendars look so festive, stuffed with presents waiting to be opened day by day!

Wednesday Giveaway!

From the Ruby Star Society comes an adorable mini charm set designed by Rashida Coleman Hale. We are passing it on to Penny, our lucky winner this week. We’d love to hear what you make from it!

I’ll be back with another Giveaway next Wednesday. Until then you can shop for all sorts of sewing notions, books, and other fun stuff at pieceocake.com.

Show and tell… North Pole Runner!

Many thanks to Lis, who emailed this week to say that she hasn’t started on the Welcome Back To The North Pole quilt yet, but she is making a wall hanging using the table runner design and she shared her progress with me.  It’s not layered and quilted yet. She used needle turn appliqué, reverse needle turn appliqué, mola and broidery perse techniques and she has a bird button to go on the roof.

Don’t you love the batik LIs used in the background?! That dark swirly blue is perfect behind the rest of the applique. Well done Lis and thank you for sharing!

You can find the table runner pattern here: https://pieceocake.com/collections/christmas-patterns-books/products/dinner-at-santas-house-table-runner

Wednesday Giveaway – Retro!

Before the new Thread Organizer from Sue Spargo (see in our store), there was Yazzii’s version – The Ultimate Thread Organizer. It’s no longer available from Yazzii, but we found two Aqua ones tucked on a back shelf! We’re giving one away this week to Karen Scribner and will give the other away in the new year.

The only photo showing the inside was of a red organizer, but the one we’re giving away is aqua. See below.

I’ll be back with another Giveaway next Wednesday. Until then you can shop for all sorts of sewing notions, books, and other fun stuff at pieceocake.com!
